How do I get a quote?

To provide an accurate written quotation for full home moves we recommend that our surveyor visits you to see exactly what you have to be moved and to go through all of your requirements with you. Every single removal is different. You also get to meet a member of staff and get a feel for the company they represent. This is a free service without obligation and can be arranged for a mutually agreeable time. All professional removal companies work this way. Surveys usually take around 20-35 mins and you receive your quote via email the same or following day. Book here.

How soon should I arrange a quotation?

As soon as you know you are going to be moving, don’t leave this to the last minute. Lions Removals Liverpool are happy to visit you as soon as you would like and our quotations are valid for up to 6 months. We advise to get quotes around 4-6 weeks before you are due to move. Try and get 3-4 different quotes. Compare each on price, but also on the level of service offered. There is a wide range of services offered within the removals industry.

How long will my removal take?

This varies with every single job and is affected by several factors; ie distance, access being granted at the new property, waiting for keys, dismantling, packing etc. The majority of moves we complete the same day but some larger moves may need to be loaded up the day before. We can also help pack the day before your moving day.

How much do you charge?

This is a question we get asked several times a day. Every single move is different and therefore on the whole, every jobs’ price is different. Our prices are very competitive starting at just £89 for small home moves and £49 for student moves. See our Removal Costs article for more information.

How do you price my job?

We treat each quotation individually and base the price on your specific needs. This includes the type of vehicle and the size of team we need. There may also be other factors, such as having to remove furniture via a window, access issues, dismantling and/or reassembly and packing requirements

Do you provide boxes or us?

We can provide boxes should you need them. You can either buy these from us at trade rate or we offer a removal crate loan system. These are tough, closed lid plastic boxes that we re use over and over again. Options for boxes can be discussed during your free survey

Do you offer any additional services?

Yes we can quote to include additional services, such as:

  • Unpacking
  • Electrical and plumbing work
  • Disposal of unwanted items
  • Dismantling and reassembly of furniture

I am ready to book, how much notice do I need to give?

We recommend that you book your removal as soon as possible. Once you start to discuss dates with your solicitor and other people in the chain, it is possible to make a provisional booking with us – which we would then endeavour to hold for you until you exchange contracts and are then in the position to fully confirm the booking with us.
If for some reason, you are unable to give us advance warning, we will always do everything we can to try and accommodate you.

When do I need to pay?

We ask for a 25% deposit upfront with the balance payable the day before you move/the morning of your move. The deposit secures your vehicles and staff for the move

How do I pay?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, bank transfer, cash or cleared cheque

What will you do with my Hanging Clothes?

Portable wardrobe boxes can be supplied where needed, our crew will transfer your clothes straight from your wardrobe into them and then on delivery, hang everything back in your wardrobes. These robes are available for purchase if required, if for example you do not have wardrobes at your new home yet.

Flat Screen Television

Most households now own a large flat screen television, if you have the original box – great, if not please disconnect/take down from the wall and our team will carefully protect this for you using our specialist padded covers. We can also help with disconnecting/removal from a wall.

Sofas/Chairs

We have specialist padded sofa covers which are put on sofas/armchairs in your home before they are moved. They are like a sleeping bag for your furniture offering the highest protection during transit

White goods

We have custom made covers for your white goods. These are padded and offer the highest protection during transit

Mattresses

We have very heavy duty bags to protect these during transit

Pictures/Mirrors

Our removals team will wrap these in blankets for you and place inside a specialised artwork carrier for safe transportation

Will you protect my carpets/flooring?

Yes we have specialist covers which will be placed on all your floors and carpets where required. Mats will be placed in your hallway and banisters and stairs fully protected also.
